Paul Andrews
Chief Executive Officer
Paul currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of The Brook
Hospitals in Louisville, Kentucky where he is responsible for the
day-to-day operations of the Dupont and KMI locations. Paul has
close to twenty (20) years of experience in the Behavioral Health
arena. In his career, he has held several positions, which have
included: Marketing Representative, Director of Business
Development, Regional Director of Business Development, Chief
Executive Officer and Market President. Paul most recently served
as Chief Executive Officer for River Point Behavioral Health
(formerly Ten Broeck Hospital) and Wekiva Springs Center in
Jacksonville, Florida. Originally from Kentucky, he has returned to
his home state to take the role of Chief Executive Officer of two
(2) sister facilities under its’ parent company, Universal Health
Services, Inc. Paul earned his degree from the University of
Kentucky in 1987, where he was also a member of the historically
rich athletic program. He served on a committee that helped develop
and establish a drug court in Nassau County, Florida. Paul has
served on the Board of the Mental Health Association of Northeast
Florida, as well as, the Healthy Jacksonville Foundation. He has
also been appointed to the Adult Mental Health Task Force for the
City of Jacksonville. Paul also was appointed to the University of
North Florida’s Department of Health Dean’s Council. He has also
been an active member of the Chamber of Commerce and participated
as a member of the allocation committee for the United Way
organization.
Walter R. Butler, J.D., M.D.
Medical Director
Dr. Butler is board certified in forensic psychiatry, and in
general psychiatry. He has over 10 years of experience working with
patients who suffer from mental health and addiction problems. Dr.
Butler received his under graduate degree from Kenyon College in
Gambier, Ohio and received his degree from the Vanderbilt
University School of Law in 1973. He completed medical school at
the University of Louisville in 1990, and received postgraduate
training through the University of Louisville. Dr. Butler has been
in private practice since 1999 in Louisville, Kentucky, and has
been a member of the medical staff at The Brook hospital Hospital
since 2001. He currently serves as the Hospital Medical Director
for The Brook hospital Dupont, and has held this position for the
past 4 years. Dr. Butler is the Associate Regional Medical Director
for Magellan Behavioral Health. He also currently serves as the
physician member of the Mental Health Division Review Board, and
has held this position since 1998. He has provided lectures for the
University of Louisville School of Medicine regarding forensic
psychiatry and informed consent. He served as a consultant for the
Governor's Task Force of Law, Violent Crime and Serious Mental
Illness from 1996-1997.
William P. Owen, M.D.
Medical Director for Child & Adolescent
Services
Dr. Owen is board certified in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
as well as in Adult Psychiatry. He has over 20 years experience
working with patients who suffer from mental health, eating
disorders and addiction problems. Dr. Owen graduated with Honors
from the University of Louisville. He received his MD Degree from U
of L where he received Honors in Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry.
Dr. Owen did his psychiatric residency and child training at The NY
Hospital-Cornell Medical Center. He completed a research fellowship
in Eating Disorders at Cornell University Medical College. Dr. Owen
went on to serve on the faculties of Cornell and Columbia
Universities. He is currently an Associate Professor on the
voluntary faculty of the University of Louisville. He has been in
private practice in Louisville, Kentucky since 1993. Dr. Owen
served as the Medical Director for Adolescent Services at KMI from
1994-2000 and now serves as the Medical Director for Child and
Adolescent Services at both of The Brook Hospitals.

Timothy N. Burke, M.D
Medical Director
Dr. Burke is board certified in general psychiatry and
neurology. He has over 25 years of experience working with patients
who suffer from mental health and addiction problems. Dr. Burke
received his under graduate degree from Thomas Moore College. He
completed medical school at the University of Louisville and
received postgraduate training through the University of
Louisville. Dr. Burke joined our team of professional staff in
1985, and has been the Hospital Medical Director since 1990.
Working with both inpatient and outpatient treatment programs, Dr.
Burke leads our multidisciplinary team and takes a holistic
approach in treating our patients. Dr. Burke has served as past
president of the Kentucky Psychiatric Association, and currently
serves as a member of the Executive Committee and Budget Committee
of the Kentucky Psychiatric Association.

Ronald L. Spears, M.D.
Medical Director, Addiction Services
Dr. Spears is certified in Addiction Medicine and is board
certified in general psychiatry and neurology. He has over 12 years
of experience working with patients who suffer from mental health
and addiction problems. Dr. Spears received his under graduate
degree from the University of Kentucky. He completed medical school
at the University of Louisville and received postgraduate training
through the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky. Dr.
Spears has been in private practice since 1991, and has been a
member of the medical staff at Ten Broeck Hospital since 1991. He
currently serves as the Medical Director for the Adult Psychiatric
Program and Adult Chemical Dependency Program, and has held this
position for the past 8 years. Dr. Spears has served as past
president of the Kentucky Psychiatric Association, and currently
serves as a legislative representative of the Kentucky Psychiatric
Association.
